Another Use for DIY Upholstered Wall Hangings
Thanks to being discovered and "pinned" by Pintrest lovers and to Apartment Therapy Chicago's recent post, there has been an incredibly heightened interested in The New England Southerner's September 13, 2011 post, DIY Upholstered Wall Hangings. Seeing such an interest in this particular project made me think you guys may also enjoy seeing another use for these pink foam insulation boards from Home Depot. The picture below is of our wedding cake, and I upholstered a board in a blue and gold damask print as a backdrop. Let me know if you have any questions on how to do this, and I would be happy to help. It was great for photos!

Creative and Efficient Ways to Transform a Nook
When we moved to Boston, our place needed a little TLC and more storage if I was going to move in any of my clothes and shoes. There was a sizable nook in our bedroom that wasn't currently used for anything, so I asked my husband if he would build me a walk-in closet. It never hurts to ask...
My sweet husband went to the Container Store, designed and built me an Elfa closet. Needless to say, he made me a very happy girl!
While he was working on function, I worked on the aesthetics. The following steps were taken in order to complete the transformation:
- Removed ugly wall sconces on either side of the closet and killed the electricity line
- Painted the room in Benjamin Moore's Violet Pearl
- Ordered Euro Track Traverse Hardware from Smith and Noble
- Installed the track 2" below the ceiling to create maximum height effect
- Hung ripple fold drapes from Madura Home
